Twelve cylinders, baby!
This is a car that has as much get-up-and-go as Lana has. Although when Lana gets up & goes *her* way, it would probably involve the car being parked…
Nice! I like those old prewar classic cars. If I could think of a way to work in something like that or a Figoni et Falaschi or Delahaye, that would be fun.
There has to be a way. A car like that would probably be the property of a museum or a rich collector. It’s hard to see how the car itself would be the subject of an espionage operation – the technology certainly wouldn’t be an industrial secret! But maybe something has been hidden in the car in the past, or the owner is driving casually around the countryside and runs into Lana… who is being pursued by the bad guys and has to make an escape. Something like that. I can imagine the owner being an elderly English gentleman, driving around the countryside… Lana would probably give the poor guy a heart attack! Then again, if he survives, the payoff might be the time of his life.
Hey, anyone who can afford the car itself can certainly afford repairs…But there just *might* be some repercussions from auto-buffs if you show it getting destroyed in the comic. Even so, a hair-raising chase scene that *threatens* damage but it still ends up without even a scratch looks good in print too.
😉
Read the entire run of SPYING WITH LANA today, including the crossovers with Giant Girl & Flare. Love this comic! Like the unsavory dudes Lana has to use her special skills on in just about every adventure, Mondays can’t come soon enough!
We used to get both series on TV here in the US. It was tape-delayed, not live, but they would show British Touring Cars, DTM, and V8 Supercars all back to back on Wednesday afternoons. Consequently, Wednesdays were not a very productive day for me! 😀 Unfortunately that channel got swallowed up by a bigger sports channel, and now none of those series are on TV anymore, so I have to scrape by on IMSA, Super GT, ELMS, Blancpain, F1, WEC, 24H series, a little Euro GT4, the occasional WTCC race, Formula E…
My prediction- Nico and Vasile bond over sports, go out for drinks and have a splendid evening after all. Lana returns from being super spy/ salaried hooker and hangs out with broken jaw girls and complain about their dating problems.
If Lana is going to ‘negotiate’ like she usually does, they could be there a while. Hope he has a shower in that office or her date is going to notice that Lana’s been extra busy.
Maybe Nico will pick up a few pointers on how to drive; that might be useful next time he goes on a date with Lana.
… if there is a next time, of course.
He and his car have to survive this date first! 😀
I’d love to see Lana driving one of these: http://www.vaultcars.com/1937-packard-v-12-phaeton

Although it would probably cost him a fortune in repair bills for the car! 😀

Hey, that’s great! Thank you! I’m really glad you like it!
Payday is tomorrow, which means tomorrow is also the day I become a SPYING WITH LANA Patron.
That’s really kind! Thanks!
British Touring Cars. Nice. Craps on our Australian Touring Cars…

Sports; it is the universal male language
Yes, although Nico doesn’t seem too happy to be speaking it at the moment! 😀

Hey, nothing brings people together like British Touring Cars! 😀

Right now he’s probably just hoping that Vasile has showered! 😀
And by now, Lana already knows if he’s showered…
Well, Lana is *definitely* not a 9-to-5 girl.
Doess some of her best work in the evenings, don’cha know!
This is true! 😀
Are they meant to be watching any sport in particular?
Yes, it’s auto racing.
Panel 1: “Not looking for weapons.”
Panel 2: “Take your time.”
Panel 3: “This is great.”
Hey, someone who can translate mumble! 😀
He’s just shy. 😉
That’s so cute! He thinks he’s going to make it to the restaurant 😉
You have to admire that kind of optimism!
Yeah, good reservations are hard to get, and they don’t take rain checks, either…
He could explain to the restaurant why they were late, but I don’t think that would help in this case.
In this case it’s hard to guess which would be less helpful: they do believe the explanation or they don’t believe it.
Maybe Lana could *CONVINCE* the headwaiter that it’s in the restaurant’s best interest to give them a table when they get there.
I suppose that would depend on if the restaurant is any good. It might not be worth it! 😀
Work, work, work, even when she’s working…
That’s right! 😀
Lana sure does know how to work it though, don’t she?
😛
