love how lanas back perks up when she thinks backup has arrived π
Thank you! Too bad it didn’t last long! π
Come on, Lana. You know thatβs not your backup. Itβs more likely to be a news chopper under the dubious control of a drunken pilot, an enemy, or a turkey drop orchestrated by WKRP in Cincinnati.
Those probably are more likely options! π
Lana, Lana, Lana, you know bloody well your luck does not run that high. Surprise backup rescue copter is a 15. You’re at a 3. On a good day.
Yes, that’s impressive optimism! π
If it ainβt backup, Lana better stay naked and hope theyβre easily distracted.
It’s worth a try! π
Finding your name on the employee list is a great hassle into itself. Still, maybe Lana can make some suggestions to HR when she gets back from this mission and get some proper changes going on with her job.
At this point, HR should hide if they see Lana coming! π
At this point, HR should hide if they hear Lana’s in the country (she has actual stealth skills). Maybe they should hide if they have reason to suspect Lana’s in the same hemisphere.
Yes, they should start hiding just on general principles! π
Its confirmed then.
Larry (Lana, i mean Lana!!!) being part of the Agency is an anomaly.
This is probably all Larry’s fault! π
In fairness, this doesn’t really prove Astrid is a bad employee.
If the Chief left the office and told me to “screen his calls” or whatever vague instructions that he left, I’d probably be in the same hapless role. In my current role, I’d probably take 15 to 30 minutes looking for how one goes about sending an extraction team since The Chief almost certainly hasn’t left any useful instructions.
Honestly, the best that I could do is “Well, I guess I could roll out a tech van for an internet outage but I’d put in notes that say they’re to follow our employee Lana’s instructions instead of normal procedure.”
Admittedly, this is probably still better than whatever Astrid is going to do. Still, I can relate to the whole “I’m taking a call from someone who is asking me to do something that I have no power/procedures to actually help them.” issue.
Of course, this could have been avoided if the Chief had put a competent employee with the proper authority in charge, but then again, that may be hard to find at the Agency!
More likely the chief doesn’t want to be shown up.
Yes, and I expect he’s no better at hiring than he is at anything else! π
Really, Lana? Do you really think you’re that lucky?
Hmm? Have you been drinking the water? The one with whatever it is that makes most people in your world so… Well. ‘Dumb’ is an unkind word.
You’ve got to watch that water! π
Just finished a binge of Sequential Art. A story arc from #831 was about aliens running a reality show that harvested Retardium from the viewers. Using drugged water on the cast to keep things rolling :}

Alas no, that’s the people that were chasing you earlier
You never know!
Oh, Lana…I like your optimism.
It’s always possible… right? π
She should know better by now!
Probably true! π
Someone in sales saved the day no wait it’s lover boy he traded his Bradley in for an AH6.
We can’t lose hope that the sales department will come through! π
Selling spies with Samuel- The amazing story of a guy who could sell whale steaks to Peta, but instead keeps Lana employed.
I’d buy it!
I may write that maybe mention the baron who bought battleship to shoot his bank, and how Lana help create jobs in time of economic hardship!
Can’t lose something we never had…
