Look, 3.5’s fine, and 5E actually streamlined the rules quite well, in my opinion, but they still face the fundamental problem of D&D’s antiquated approach to RPGs, which favours roll-playing over role-playing, adversarial GMs, and passive players.
Just don’t try telling Eddi! 😀
